Dear Parents,

It hasn't even been a week that we have been back from Israel and I miss it so.  So many of you read the blogs, watched the videos and traveled vicariously with us through Israel.  What an incredible experience it was for our 8th graders and for the adult chaperons.  It was awesome to skpye with many of our younger classes, to share details about the trip with them and to see their faces as the 8th graders spoke with them.  I have heard from so many kids and parents that they are counting down the days until their trip and the fun that they will have when they get to go to Israel and meet the Ironi Gimel kids!

As one of the chaperons and as a very proud Head of School, I want to share how incredible it was to travel with this particular class of 8th graders--it was fun, engaging, and they were an incredible group.  The adult chaperons who were with us made it all possible and the support and spirit from everyone here at school made it a trans-continental experience!  This was truly a jewel in the crown of our KSA education.

If you didn't have a chance to read the blogs and see the videos, I hope that you will find a moment to do so, as the spirit is contagious!

I want to wish you all a wonderful vacation--may we all enjoy some quiet, some quality time with our families, and I look forward to seeing everyone back at school after the break!

Shabbat Shalom!

Message from Mr. Medwed

Dear Parents,

20111215 Marc Picture

Life is good.  I am sitting outside my room at Kibbutz Nachsholim overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.  Our 8th graders are hanging out with their new friends from Ironi Gimmel in Haifa, whom they met yesterday.  By the time you read this, we will have watched the sun set while davening Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv and will have welcomed Shabbat together.

The 8th grade Israel experience is a jewel in the crown of a KSA education.  We have traveled the land from the east to the west  and the north to the south.  For our students, Israel is now a part of who they are as Jews.

If you have not read our daily updates and seen our videos, I encourage you to visit our blog, ksa-ne.blogspot.com, and read about our travels.  Within each blog, you will find links to each day's video.

I am looking forward to returning to school next week and seeing everyone whom I have missed greatly.  But until then, I will be enjoying the beauty of Israel and Shabbat with new friends and old, along the Mediterranean Sea.

Shabbat Shalom!
